Amber in Velixir perfumes
Not a material but an accord: warm, sweet resin built from labdanum, benzoin, vanilla and similar notes.
Amber in perfumery has nothing to do with the fossil resin. It is a name for a warm, sweet, slightly powdery accord, usually built from resins like labdanum and benzoin together with vanilla. It sits in the base of a perfume, holds the heart together and makes woods and florals read as warmer. Where a brand writes black amber it names a darker, more resinous version of the same idea, and does not say what is in it.

Notes that go with amber
Look for musk, bergamot, vanilla, cedarwood and sandalwood on the same lists as amber: they are its usual company here. The woody and amber, sweet and vanilla and musky and powdery families hold the most of the eight.
